Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search box passes to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. Bracken County Criminal History does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained long enough to answer and manage the exchange. It remains within the operating team unless disclosure is required by a valid legal duty.
Data We Gather Automatically
Page requests can automatically provide basic technical and usage details:
- Page-view dates and times
- Device type and operating system
- IP address
- Browser name and version
- Visited pages and time spent
- Referring site, when available
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files that help measure visits, popular pages, and where sessions end. Analytics services combine that traffic into reports. A browser can block cookies, though disabling them may change how some site functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Diagnosing technical faults
- Routing search requests to the selected provider
- Maintaining speed and availability
- Measuring which pages are useful
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Bracken County Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes directions to the Bracken sheriff, the Circuit Clerk, Kentucky State Police, and the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not turned into a third-party record or consumer report, and the site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies run the embedded search tools. Their privacy policies, retention periods, and sharing rules govern information entered there. Review the provider's policy before sending a query because this policy does not control that processing.
Links to Other Websites
Links can lead to courts, law-enforcement agencies, state systems, legal resources, and commercial tools. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's own policy applies. Read it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their systems to measure activity across sites and select targeted ads.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Advertising networks serving page content
- Search providers processing a submitted query
- Analytics services measuring traffic and performance
- Government bodies when a valid legal order compels disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices protect the information collected. No internet service can guarantee absolute safety, so the site cannot promise that a breach or unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. Data identified as belonging to a minor will be removed when the operator is notified.
Your Data Rights
Applicable Kentucky consumer-protection law, including KRS Chapter 367, may provide additional rights depending on the circumstances. A visitor may:
- Request correction of inaccurate personal data
- Ask what personal information is retained
- Request deletion where applicable
- Object to certain processing where the law permits
Updates to This Policy
