Bracken County Arrest History
An arresting officer creates an incident or arrest report. In Bracken County, the likely agency is the Bracken County Sheriff, Augusta Police Department, or Kentucky State Police Post 6. Other agencies may assist with mutual aid, a collision, or transport. The agency report describes its own work. A separate receiving jail creates the booking number, intake time, custody status, fingerprints, and photograph after transport.
District Court then creates the initial-appearance, probable-cause, bond, and misdemeanor or preliminary-felony record. If a felony is indicted, Circuit Court opens the felony case. Qualifying custodial fingerprints are transmitted to the Kentucky State Police under KRS 441.046 and may become part of centralized criminal history. These files answer different questions. An arrest report shows the law-enforcement event, a booking entry shows custody, and a court file shows what was filed and how each charge ended.
No Bracken County Jail Roster
Bracken County has an elected jailer but no physical county jail. The June 2025 Fiscal Court minutes state that the county has no jail and pays other facilities to house prisoners. The arresting agency must therefore identify the receiving facility used in a specific case. Housing arrangements can change, so naming one neighboring jail as the permanent Bracken booking site would be misleading.
Start with the agency that made the arrest. If it cannot identify the destination, contact Jailer Charlie Clos at 606-217-2092. Ask for the receiving facility, a booking number if releasable, and whether the person was released or transferred. Then use only that facility's official roster or telephone channel. A person who is not found in one outside jail may have been booked elsewhere, released, or moved.
Note: A missing name on one jail roster does not prove that no Bracken County arrest or short booking occurred.
Looking Up Bracken County Arrests
The strongest search begins with the current location and then works back through the arrest and court record. A same-day search should not begin with a statewide history product because fingerprint, court, and corrections data can lag. Use the following official channels in order, adjusting the first call to the incident location and responding agency.
- Call the likely arresting agency. Use the Bracken Sheriff at 606-735-3233, Augusta Police at 606-756-3296, or KSP Post 6 at 859-428-1212. Give the full name, approximate arrest time, and location. Ask which outside jail received the person, whether a booking number can be released, and whether a release or transfer occurred.
- Use the receiving jail's official roster or phone line. Its rules, not Bracken County's, control visitation, mail, deposits, photographs, and custody information.
- Call Bracken District Clerk at 606-735-2522 for an initial case and bond order. If a felony is later indicted, call Circuit at 606-735-3328.
- For the agency report, contact the office that created it by phone, email, mail, fax, or in person. Use Kentucky's OAG-1 request form when a formal Open Records Act request is needed.
- Use KSP name-based or personal-review forms for longer-term Kentucky repository history. Use KOOL only after Department of Corrections custody or supervision begins.

Bracken Arrest Agency Channels
The correct custodian depends on who created the record. Sheriff Robert “Bobby” Boody's office handles county patrol, investigations, warrants, court orders, and sheriff reports. Augusta has the county's only clearly documented municipal police department. KSP Post 6 covers Bracken from Dry Ridge and may create the lead report for a state investigation, major collision, or assisted event. Brooksville and Germantown do not have separately documented police-record offices in the official directories reviewed.

It does not supply a searchable county arrest blotter, which makes a direct agency request more important.
Inside a Bracken County Arrest Record
A public arrest or booking record can identify the event and custody path, but access varies by custodian. Medical screening, security data, protected victims, juveniles, and personal identifiers are generally withheld or redacted. Charge text reflects what the arresting agency delivered at intake. It can change after a prosecutor reviews the event or the court acts.

KOOL Is Not Bracken Booking
Kentucky Online Offender Lookup, or KOOL, searches Department of Corrections custody and supervision. It does not list every person recently arrested in Bracken County, and it is not a same-day booking log for the outside jail. KOOL becomes useful after a person enters state prison custody, probation, parole, or another DOC status.
The official KOOL search guidance says the system updates four times per day. Photos can take days to appear after intake, and profiles display only the last ten convictions. Start with a last name and first initial, then add an alias, DOC or PID number, supervision status, location, county of supervision, conviction county, offense, or date range if needed.
The state guidance helps readers separate a DOC offender profile from a recent Bracken County arrest or outside-jail booking.
A KOOL result can show name, location, PID or DOC number, status, physical data, sentence and conviction entries, projected dates, and parole information when available. Its absence says little about a new arrest. For same-day location, return to the arresting agency and receiving-jail chain.
Booking Logs and Recent Arrests
Neither Bracken County nor KSP publishes a consolidated official daily Bracken arrest blotter identified in the research. The sheriff site provides contacts but no searchable arrest log. KSP Post 6 publishes dated press releases for some significant investigations, not a complete list of county bookings. The absence of a Bracken roster follows from the county's lack of a jail.
Do not substitute a mugshot aggregator for the missing official log. Such pages may copy stale data, omit dismissals, confuse names, and fail to identify the true custodian. No private arrestee names or photographs should be republished as a county arrest gallery. For a recent event, call the arresting office and then the receiving jail. For the filed allegation and bond order, use the Bracken District Clerk.
A receiving-jail roster usually reflects current or recent custody rather than a full Bracken County arrest history. A name may disappear after release or transfer. Save the booking number and court case number, then verify later events through the official offices.

Bracken Arrest Fingerprints Reach KSP
The records chain continues after booking. For qualifying detained people, custodial fingerprints go to the Kentucky State Police centralized criminal-history system under KRS 441.046. The arrest cycle can then be matched to identity and later disposition reporting. This statewide repository record differs from the local sheriff report, the receiving-jail entry, and the court case.
KSP does not offer an anonymous, instant public name-search portal. Its official background-check channel allows a $20 Kentucky name-based request with the subject's permission by mail or walk-in. A person reviewing their own Kentucky criminal history can use Form 309 with rolled fingerprints and $20 under 502 KAR 30:070. That fingerprint route is better suited to identity matching and a formal challenge than a general name search.
The AOC's $25 CourtNet-based report answers a different question. It reports Kentucky court activity within its published scope. A recent booking may exist before either statewide product updates, and a non-fingerprint-supported event may not appear in the same way. Use the agency and jail for current location, the clerk for filed charges, and KSP for repository history.
Arrests Are Not Convictions
An arrest records a law-enforcement action and possible custody. It does not decide guilt. The prosecutor may file a different charge, decline a charge, or amend the case. A court can dismiss a count or enter an acquittal. Only a judgment of guilt after a plea or trial is a conviction.

A booking charge, filed charge, and final charge may all differ. Compare the intake record with the complaint or indictment, then read the disposition beside each count. That method prevents an early allegation from being mistaken for the result.
Note: A Bracken County arrest is not proof of guilt, and the court file controls whether a charge produced a conviction.

Name the exact record: incident report, arrest report, call-for-service entry, transport information, or warrant-service return. Include the date and time range, location, incident or case number, lawful identifying names, and desired copy format. Ask for an estimate of any lawful duplication, media, or postage cost.
If a direct request is unclear, use the Kentucky Attorney General's OAG-1 Open Records form. The Kentucky Open Records Act permits inspection of nonexempt agency records, while KRS 61.878 protects privacy and active-investigation material when disclosure would cause the stated harm. Court pleadings belong with the Circuit Clerk, Augusta-created reports with Augusta Police, and KSP-led reports with KSP.
